Viva Musica! – a bird’s eye view of music at Unisa

Music has the power to set the spirit free. With music we can view life form a different perspective and seek fresh solutions to society’s problems.  Viva Musica! is a celebration of South Africa’s musical talent and the role Unisa has played in nurturing and promoting such talent.

For almost 120 years, the Unisa Music Foundation has been helping young South African musicians fly high.  This one-of-a-kind system has enabled many fledglings hatch an interest in music, find their wings and learn to fly.  For those who aspire to the highest levels, the Unisa stage has been there to let them spread their wings and soar to rare professional heights.

Not only have budding musicians been basking in Unisa’s musical limelight, but several of the world’s most prominent conductors, composers, soloist and performing musicians have been part of its proud legacy.  This book gives a bird’s eye view of the rich local and international musical talent which have jointly created a glorious musical tapestry – indeed, Viva Musica!
